A Vision for Covenant

Samuel knew it, Ezekiel experienced it: without vision, a people have no rudder, no guiding star. Vision gives us hope during the lean times, and brings us back on course during the fat ones. Vision is to be held up before us like a sign-post, pointing the way to an ever-renewing future in Christ. Here is a vision crafted by the Covenant Seekers, under the sure guidance of the Holy Spirit. It was reached only after study and deliberation and consultation with you, the people of Covenant Presbyterian Church. The Seekers ask that you read it, and then read it again . . . talk about it, ask questions about it and pray over it. The Seekers covet your opinion, input and experience.

A Vision for Covenant

Planted on the edge,
Built by families of fearless faith—
Reformers, pioneers, Renaissance people—
Covenant still stands.
Now a center in the midst of the margin,
Believing God provides
And God sustains those who respond to a changing world,
We stand in the gaps.
Called as neighbors
Of the helpless, the hopeless, and the hurting.
Transforming ourselves,
Our community, through
Study,
Music,
Worship,
Art,
Dance –
In love and joy
We celebrate the Covenant that was and is
And is to come!
